 (Written by Erin Johnson)
The sun was shining on the road
Where a girl and Jesus walked
She hung on every word He said
No matter what He said
She'd stay close her hand in His
Following His every step
And promised to go anywhere He led
(Chorus)
And she cried, "Oh how I depend on You Jesus
How frightened I'd be if You were gone
What could ever take me from my Savior
I'd be so lost out on my own"
She began to slow her pace
For something else had caught he eye
She stepped off His path and began to slide
She's wandering down that lonely road
Wondering how she got so far
Moments ago she was by His side
(Chorus)
And she cried, "Oh how I depend on You Jesus
How frightened I am now that You're gone
What could ever take me from my Savior
I am so lost out on my own"
One step down she got turned around
She's wondering where she is
And how she could see His face again
But neither death nor life nor depth nor height
Nor any created thing
Will be able to keep her from His love
She turned around and there He stood
With His arms held open wide
Too many to count were the tears she shed
The sun was shining on the road
Where a girl and Jesus walked
She promised to go anywhere He led
